A Better Remodeling Experience Starts With a Different Idea
Every company has a beginning. Ours began with a belief that homeowners deserved better. Founded by civil engineer Dan Dragomir, dRemodeling combines design, materials and construction into a carefully coordinated remodeling experience for Philadelphia-area homeowners.
From Romania to Philadelphia
Dan Dragomir came to America from Romania with an engineering education, limited English and approximately $2,000. His earliest jobs included painting, delivering pizza and cleaning while he worked toward a career in engineering. The long hours taught him resilience; his education taught him the value of planning, precision and accountability.
The Problem That Started It All
While working for a Philadelphia engineering firm, Dan was asked to coordinate a renovation. Finding responsive, dependable contractors proved far harder than expected. Unreturned calls, missed appointments and inconsistent professionalism convinced him that homeowners needed a different kind of remodeling company. What if the careful coordination expected on engineering projects could become the standard for residential remodeling?
A Company Built One Customer at a Time
The first projects were modest. One early bathroom client had suffered a poor previous remodeling experience and wanted someone she could trust. Dan managed the details, delivered the project and earned only a small financial return. But the homeowner was delighted, and her referrals helped the young company grow. That experience reinforced a belief that guides dRemodeling to this day: the customer experience matters as much as the finished space.
Why We Became a Design-Build Company
As the company expanded, Dan saw another problem. Homeowners were expected to coordinate designers, material suppliers and construction teams on their own. dRemodeling developed a more integrated approach, bringing design guidance, material selection and installation into one accountable team. The showroom became a place where customers could make decisions with confidence rather than piecing together a project from disconnected vendors.
Built Around the Homeowner
Today, dRemodeling remodels kitchens, bathrooms and whole homes throughout Philadelphia, the Main Line and surrounding communities. We believe excellent craftsmanship, organized project management, clear communication, jobsite respect and thoughtful design all belong in the same experience.

Dan completed an MBA at Villanova University.
2013
First brick-and-mortar office and design center in East Falls.
2019
Former warehouse transformed into a showroom and design center.

Integrated design, materials and construction serving the Philadelphia area.
Knowledge Is Part of Good Service
Dan’s unfinished remodeling book explored project costs, selecting a contractor, comparing materials, preparing for construction and living through a renovation. The central idea still guides our consultations and Learning Center: informed homeowners make better decisions, and a well-planned project begins long before construction.
