Detailed Description
The homeowners came to dRemodeling seeking a complete transformation of their outdated kitchen. The original space felt awkward and lacked both functionality and flow, making it difficult to prepare meals or entertain. Their main goals included maximizing counter space, adding an island, upgrading cabinetry, and modernizing the overall aesthetic.
To achieve this, our design team introduced clean, shaker-style cabinetry with a bold two-toned palette: navy blue base cabinets contrasted with butternut knotty alder wood wall cabinets. This striking combination introduced the moody yet modern character the clients envisioned. Honey bronze hardware was selected to warm the design, adding depth and complementing the cabinetry beautifully.
A geometric backsplash with subtle gold accents was installed to bring balance and texture, tying seamlessly into the cabinetry and countertops. For the surfaces, Cambria Portrush quartz was the standout choice. Its bold veining in dark blue with gold undertones perfectly tied together the palette, introducing both elegance and durability.
Functionality was equally prioritized. A central island was added, creating much-needed prep space as well as a seating area for gathering and entertaining. This change maximized counter space and established the kitchen as a true hub of the home. With the upgraded appliances and reimagined layout, the space is now efficient, stylish, and perfectly aligned with the homeowners’ vision for a modern kitchen remodel in Philadelphia.
