Hidden Jungle Bathroom Remodel in Philadelphia | Modern Eclectic Design
The Project Story
Classic finishes and a jungle-inspired accent give this Philadelphia bathroom a modern eclectic character, with substantially more storage within a familiar layout.
Location: Philadelphia, PA. Completion date: 2024.
What the Client Wanted
The existing layout worked for the homeowners, but the bathroom needed more storage and a cohesive design that respected the classic character of the home.
What We Changed
An underused bathtub was converted into a walk-in shower. A customized vanity with integrated tall linen storage, recessed medicine cabinets and niches nearly doubled the available storage. A recessed storage area beside the toilet keeps everyday items accessible.
Design & Materials
Black-and-white small-format hexagonal mosaic floor tile and white subway wall tile provide a classic foundation. Jungle-inspired tile in the shower niche picks up the green wall sconces. A dark cherry vanity with a slim shaker door style brings traditional warmth to the eclectic palette.
Construction
The walk-in shower includes a linear drain, corner bench, wall-mounted raincan showerhead and handheld shower. Single-hole wall-mounted sink faucets with integrated handles complete the vanity area. Recessed storage and customized cabinetry were coordinated within the room.
