Traditional Kitchen Remodel in Phoenixville | Textured Design

Traditional Kitchen Remodel in Phoenixville | Textured Design

The Project Story

The client came in looking to increase the space in their kitchen and improve work flow. They were looking to replace their existing appliances, specifically interested in a larger stovetop, and add an island. They came in knowing they wanted white cabinets with a dark island, and a section of dark cabinets.

Key Features:
  • Design Elements: The client used two-toned Dura Supreme cabinetry in a white and cashew finished white oak the elevate their space. The marble arched herring boned wall tile placed from the counters to the ceiling add a unique texture to the walls. To highlight the gas cooktop and showcase the wall-mounted pot filler, a distinct backsplash pattern was installed above the cooktop. A pencil tile border frames this contrasting tile, adding a touch of traditional elegance. The wood hood’s detailed craftsmanship further enhances the classic feel, standing out beautifully against the surrounding white cabinetry.
  • Functional Improvements: The new island size and shape allows for traffic to easily pass through the kitchen without interrupting work flow. Its larger countertop provides ample prep space and accommodates multiple cooks working comfortably at the same time.
  • Special Features: The refrigerator wall made of wood cabinetry creates contrast with the white cabinetry used in the rest of the kitchen. The glass wall cabinets with interior lighting allows for items within the cabinets to be displayed, creating a high-end appearance.

Phoenixville Traditional Textured Kitchen Remodel

This kitchen remodel in Phoenixville, PA blends traditional craftsmanship with modern function. The client envisioned a space with increased flow, a larger cooktop, and a statement island, all while incorporating timeless white cabinetry paired with a dark contrasting finish. With detailed woodwork, marble herringbone tile, and carefully selected finishes, the kitchen was transformed into a warm, functional, and elegant gathering space.

Project Details
The client’s main goals were to improve the workflow of their kitchen and create a more open, inviting space for cooking and entertaining. They wanted to replace appliances, with a particular focus on upgrading to a larger gas cooktop, while also incorporating a new island that would enhance both function and style. From the start, they envisioned white cabinetry paired with a darker island and accent cabinetry, ensuring a classic yet visually dynamic design.
Our design approach centered around custom Dura Supreme two-toned cabinetry in a crisp white and cashew-finished white oak. This mix created balance and warmth throughout the space. A marble arched herringbone wall tile was installed from counter to ceiling, adding rich texture and depth. Above the cooktop, a distinct backsplash pattern framed by pencil tile creates a focal point, complemented by the wall-mounted pot filler for both function and beauty. The detailed wood hood stands out against the surrounding cabinetry, showcasing traditional craftsmanship.
The new island was carefully designed to improve kitchen flow, offering expanded prep space while allowing multiple cooks to work side by side. Special details like a refrigerator wall of contrasting wood cabinetry and glass display cabinets with interior lighting add elegance and functionality, elevating the entire space.

Design Challenges & Solutions
One of the key challenges was reconfiguring the layout to incorporate a larger island without interrupting the flow of traffic. By adjusting the island’s size and placement, we created a solution that enhanced circulation while maximizing counterspace. Another design challenge was ensuring that the mix of materials—white cabinetry, dark wood finishes, and patterned tile—felt cohesive rather than overwhelming. By grounding the design with consistent tones and thoughtful accents, we achieved a space that is both bold and harmonious.

Final Result
The finished project is a traditional kitchen remodel in Phoenixville that pairs timeless details with modern functionality. From the striking herringbone tilework to the custom wood hood and contrasting cabinetry, the design achieves balance, elegance, and everyday usability. The result is a warm, welcoming kitchen perfectly tailored to the client’s needs and dRemodeling’s expertise.
